“The Commons” is a fellowship space that connects the Sanctuary to the other portions of the Church. The project involved eliminating an existing drive-thru porte-cochere by enclosing and converting it into interior space. The resulting space, “The Commons”, is used as a gathering space for fellowship before and after worship services. “The Commons” includes a coffee bar and fireplace. The two existing columns that were located on each side of the porte-cochere, were clad with vertical wood strips that fan out in a radial pattern at the top of each columns. LED strip lights were installed to continue the radial pattern. Work also included adding a gallery space that connected The Commons to the rest of the Church’s facilities.
