Ron Hobbs, AIA , Principal

In 1977 Ron started his own firm, RON HOBBS ARCHITECTS, and this year the firm is completing it’s 48th year of business.  From the very beginning of his career Ron has focused on serving governmental clients.  He has worked on over 270 projects for 11 counties and 61 cities throughout Texas.  Ron’s design work  has won numerous awards and has been published in both state and national magazines.

In addition to his work as an architect, Ron is active in civic and community affairs.  He has previously served as Chairman of Garland’s South Area Planning Implementation Committee, Chairman of Garland’s Downtown Urban Design Corps, Chairman of Garland’s Downtown Revitalization Committee, and Chairman of the Main Street Design Committee.  He is currently serving on the Vice Chairman on the Board of Directors for the Garland Preservation, Inc.   He is also serving in his 19th year as Chairman of the Administration Council at St. Philip’s United Methodist Church. 

Ron serves as both the Principal-in-Charge and Design Architect on the firm’s projects.  His experience in planning designing governmental buildings and their related systems is key to the quality of work our firm provides.   Ron works daily with our design team to ensure the project meets the needs and expectations of our clients. Wadona Stich,  RID, IIDA, Principal

Education:     El Centro College - 1999

Registration:  Texas, LEED (TM) Accredited Professional

Organizations: IIDA Commercial Interior Design Association, Texas Association for Interior Design

Wadona joined RON HOBBS ARCHITECTS in 1999 where she quickly became responsible for all of the firm’s interior design work.  In 2010 she became the firm’s Director of Interior Design.  Wadona became a partner in 2014 and as a result the firm’s name was changed to RON HOBBS ARCHITECTURE & INTERIOR DESIGN, LLP. 

Wadona  has 20 years of experience in the programming, planning, and design of all types of governmental projects.  As a Registered Interior Designer she is responsible, along with Ron Hobbs for programming, master planning, design, space planning, lighting, furniture, and art selection on our firm’s projects.  Wadona’s role in a project begins very early working with the client to develop and refine their program needs.  She collaborates with Ron to develop the initial design concepts.  Her involvement continues through each following phase of work.  Wadona attends and actively participates in all client meetings, programming sessions, workshops, design charrettes, and presentations.

David Tobin, AIA , Associate

Education:     Texas Tech University - 2002

David began working for RON HOBBS ARCHITECTURE & INTERIOR DESIGN, LLP in 1996 while participating in a high school intern work program.  He continued working with us throughout his college career at Texas Tech University.  After graduating from Texas Tech David became a full time member of our firm.  He became one of our Project Managers in 2005 and after passing his State Board Exam became a Project Architect in 2011.  In 2016, David was promoted to an Associate in the firm. David has extensive experience and has been successful in the project management and delivery of numerous governmental building types.

In addition to his work with RHAID, David currently serves as a Deacon and Personnel Committee Chairman for his church New Liberty Baptist. He also serves on the Strategic Planning Committee for his church.

David brings to the team experienced successful project management skills.  He will be responsible for team communication, and delivering the required documents at each phase of the project to completion, including all engineering consultants. He  works closely with the design team members to make sure that we provide our consultants with timely information and decisions they require, and while at the same time, ensuring that our consultants provide our design team with the information we need to complete the project.  David  participates in programming sessions, planning workshops & charrettes. Kathy Thompson , Associate

Education:           University of Texas Austin, Bachelor of Science Architectural Studies, Bachelor of Science Architectural Engineering.

Kathy joined RON HOBBS ARCHITECTURE & INTERIOR DESIGN upon graduating from the University of Texas in 1993.  During the past 27 years Kathy has gained extensive experience serving as Project Manager on many of our governmental projects.  Kathy’s strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail are invaluable to the success of our projects. She is responsible for coordinating drawings and documents required through all phases of the project from design to project close out.  Kathy will assist in team communication, generating and maintaining correspondence records.
