Sachse Public Safety Building
Sachse, Texas
The Sachse’s Public Safety Building was constructed as part of the City’s new municipal campus. The two story building provides space for all Police Department functions. Fire Administration is also located in the building. The building was designed to present a friendly and inviting to the general public while, at the same time, providing for the critical security, safety, and privacy needed by the Police and Fire Departments.
The sloping site allowed the building to be designed in a manner that provides ground level from both the public side and the private side of facility. The general public enters the building on the upper level which faces the other buildings on the campus. The upper level contains administration space, police records, dispatch, and interview rooms. Controlled access is provided between the upper and lower levels of the building.
The lower level houses all police operations, city jail, sallyport, property/evidence storage, and support spaces such as locker rooms, and fitness facilities. The emergency operations center and classroom training facilities are also located on the lower level. The Public Safety portion of the building contains the Fire Administration offices.
Police and employee parking is located in a secured environment on the lower level immediately adjacent to police operations.
